In Defense of Misunderstood Monsters

Every shop needs a philosophy, so here is mine: the monster is rarely
the monster.

The Creeplings on my magnets did not ask to be born with crowns they
never requested and eyes that see a little too much. My doll faces are
not odd on purpose — they are big personalities in small faces. Even
my gingerbread man lost an eye somewhere between the oven and the
adventure, and I think he is braver for it.

When I shape one of these little characters from my own handmade clay,
I am not making something perfect. Perfect is boring, and perfect
never had a story. I am making the one who got left out of the
storybook, and handing them back their crown.

If you have ever felt a little too odd for the room, pull up a chair.
The creatures here are friendly, the tea is imaginary but endless, and
nobody has to be normal.
